FAQs

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, our private bridal consultations are by appointment only. This allows you and your guests to enjoy exclusive access to our luxurious boutique. You can use our online bookings system to schedule your appointment.

What makes a shopping experience at The One different from others?

Our team have educated expertise in colour, body shape analysis, textiles, gown construction and styling. During an appointment at The One, we will share our extensive styling knowledge with you so together we can create a personalised bridal look that is unique to you – our focus remains on celebrating individuality. On our rails you will find a curated edit of Couture gowns from renowned Bridal fashion designers that you will not find elsewhere in Ireland. Our collection is exclusive to The One.

How far in advance should I look for my dress?

We would advise that you begin searching for 'The One' nine to twelve months before your wedding. The production time for our dresses is six months. It is important to remember time for shipping and alterations so we would advise you leave yourself the comfort of a few weeks on top of this.

Why do you offer two types of appointments?

The 60 minute appointment is usually for brides who have already developed an idea of what they are looking for. These brides have typically been bridal shopping already. This appointment is also for brides who want to try a small number of gowns, usually 4-6.

The 90 minute appointment works well for first time shoppers. It gives an extra amount of time for us to discuss dress shapes, fabric and explore various styles. Within this time frame brides would usually try on 8-10 dresses.

What are your sample sizes?

Our samples at The One range between UK 10-12. However, it is important to note that sizing varies depending on the designer. Our dresses are made-to-measure and made-to-order again depending on the designer. Your bridal stylist will go through sizing with you during your appointment.

What is your price range?

Our prices range from 2,775 - 7,000 euro. Please contact us should you want specific pricing prior to your appointment. Please note as we purchase new samples this range will change.

What is the process once I find The One?

At this stage we would take your measurements based on your dress being made-to-measure or made-to-order. We require a 50% deposit to place your order. While your dress is being made by your chosen designer, we will invite you back for your complimentary stying appointment where you can see our range of veils, earrings and headpieces and order from our selection with the expert styling of The One to guide you. We will see you back for your first fitting once your dress arrives at The One, You will then consult a seamstress to perfect the fit.

What does excluisve mean?

This means you will not find this gown in any other bridal shop in Ireland. It also means you cannot order it from any other shop within Ireland and you can be sure that you will be buying a gown that is unlike any other.

What does a trunk show mean?

As each collection is released by a designer, we purchase the samples which we feel will work best for our brides. For example, a designer could create a 10 piece collection and we might purchase 4. A trunkshow is where the designer will send the full 10 piece collection to the shop for a specific amount of time so brides can shop that full collection. If you love a specific designer, this is a lovely opportunity to shop a more extensive range of their gowns.

Can you create custom dresses?

In many ways, yes. We can work with our designers to create a more customised version of our store samples. We can chat through this with you during your appointment at The One.

How do I know what dresses you have in store?

Our website is the most up to date catalogue of the dresses we have at The One. Please refer to this before scheduling an appointment with us at The One.

I have seen a dress by one of your designers but I don’t see it on your website – can I try it on?

If it is not on our website, it means we unfortunately do not stock this dress. It may be possible to get this particular dress on loan for you however this will take some time to arrange and there is also a cost involved. The charge for loaning a dress outside of our current collection is not redeemable against a dress purchase.
